for awhile we travelled across the border to mexico almost every year. cabo or cancun? take your pick.  it was more or less our family's default vacation spot for many years. it checked all the boxes. cheap, check. close, check. charming, check. but it was more than just another trip to mexico for me. i took my camera with me every time. my family, especially mom and dad became muses. in many ways, i learned how to photograph people, their feelings, emotions through these family trips.
