before climbing the hills into the cameron highlands, there was ipoh. a picturesque city nestled in the middle of a vast mountain range. the surrounding area seemed to engulf the small region. yet its people were so full of life and eager to share with me their life stories. meeting so many different characters from all walks of life - the hawker, barber, puja, skipper - or just the old man in passing. at ipoh - instead of landscapes - i doubled down on portraits. my focus was on the people there. hoping these pictures would immortalize their humanity
